We’re thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new hands-on training programme at Cutting Edge Podiatry for podiatrists and Foot Health Practitioners looking to add another valuable fungal nail treatment pathway to their practice.
Cutting Edge Podiatry is offering the UK’s first dedicated in-person training session on the Poderm Method. The training gives practitioners the opportunity to learn practical techniques, explore a structured treatment protocol, and discover how to introduce Poderm into their own clinics.
Practical Fungal Nail Training for Podiatrists and FHPs
The course is led by Cutting Edge Podiatry’s Principal Podiatrist Suvanne Southgate and Clinical Lead Podiatrist Morgane De Salvage.
During the session, delegates will develop their skills using high-speed drills, learn nail reconstruction techniques, and explore bracing for involuted nails.
As well as covering clinical techniques, the training looks at the practical and commercial side of introducing Poderm into a clinic, including equipment, products, suppliers, treatment pricing, follow-up appointments, and opportunities for ancillary product sales.
“We’re really excited to be bringing this Poderm training to fellow podiatrists and Foot Health Practitioners. We’ve seen first-hand how valuable the method can be for suitable patients, and we’re looking forward to sharing our experience, practical techniques, and everything practitioners need to confidently introduce Poderm into their own clinics,” says Suvanne Southgate.

What is the Poderm Method?
Developed by Swiss podiatrist Maud Falconnet, the Poderm Method is a structured, ongoing treatment programme for fungal toenails, combining professional in-clinic treatment with specialist homecare products and regular follow-up appointments.
In clinic, the affected nail is carefully reduced using a high-speed drill to clear fungal debris and allow topical products to reach the affected area more effectively.
Patients then follow a homecare routine using Poderm’s specialist serums, with progress reviewed approximately every six weeks. The serums contain Poderm’s patented MIMETIX® Technology, which mimics the body’s natural defences to help restore healthy nails. It is designed to form a protective shield, restore and nourish the nail, and promote renewal.
The method is non-invasive, does not involve oral medication, and can produce a visible improvement in the nail’s appearance from the first appointment. It works best when treating one to three affected nails where the nail base is not compromised and is not intended for infections that have spread along the entire nail.
