What is Poderm?
What is The Poderm Method?
- Fungal nails will be carefully trimmed back to the healthy portion, and any debris will be removed to minimise further nail damage. This process is entirely painless as the affected part of the nail has already separated from the nail bed.
- Clients will then need to apply the Poderm Serum twice daily.
- For enhanced results, a Booster can be used twice a week, and a night oil can be incorporated into the routine.

- Poderm also offers a range of breathable nail polishes for both men and women that allow the oils to penetrate for continuous treatment.
Once you have started the Poderm Method, you will need review appointments every six weeks with your podiatrist. During these appointments, any newly fungal nail will be reduced again to a healthy nail – to facilitate uptake of the Poderm serum.
Complete nail regrowth can take up to 12 months, so the duration of your treatment will depend on the severity of the fungal infection.
*Please note that the Poderm Method is appropriate for fungal nail infections where the nail base is unaffected. It is not recommended for infections that have spread to the entire length of the nail. It is ideally used where 3 nails or less have fungal infections.

How Cutting Edge Podiatry Can Help with Fungal Nails
At Cutting Edge Podiatry in Cambridge, we can use multiple methods to treat fungal nails, selecting the most appropriate treatment method for each individual. We recommend a fungal nail test before embarking on any fungal treatment to ensure a fungal infection is present where the presentation is not obviously fungal.
